I believe I have had a great season so far and it is all due to the effort of my team mates and the kind of training I get from the goalkeepers’ trainer who has really taught us a lot of things and tricks in goalkeeping. I can confidently say he is the best. these were words from Richmond Ayi when asked about his season.

Richmond Ayi may not have had a call up into the national team but he seems to have caught a lot of attention after his heroic goalkeeping in the just ended season where he played in 19 games out of which he had 17 starts. He has been in a fantastic form and it showed in the FA Cup finals when the team played Bechem United.

Speaking to heartsofoaksc.com, Richmond Ayi stated that after a team meeting, they all agreed that it will be nice that they all put in their last to ensure that they put a smile on the faces of the fans who have been deprived of some joy in the last four games of the league. “We told ourselves that we need to go all out and win because that is the only thing that the fans enjoy from us. Unlike us, we get the joy of the win and we get the bonus that comes with it. But the fans only get the joy in our victory. So, it will be fair to win and put smiles on their faces.”

Most football fans have praised him and claimed that he kept Hearts in the FA Cup match till the end starting from his heroic saves in the quarter finals match against Sharks who the team says was the toughest opponent this season both in the league and in the FA Cup.

Ayi says he is yet to reach his peak and hopefully he will love to continue his exploits to enable him make it to the top.
